Dutch Neck Village History Combines Historic With New

This quaint country village of unique shops was begun in 1976.  The original building, intended to be the office of Dutch Neck Landscaping owned by the Henry Hepner Family, opened as a plant shop and became the first of many shops.

That building and one other were built from material taken from the old Olivet Methodist Church, built in 1851 at Palatine, NJ.  Another was built from the Eglington Cemetery Chapel, built in 1876 in Clarksboro, NJ.

The remaining shops were built with new lumber but were constructed in colonial and country designs.

Since 1982, visitors have been able to spend a full day at the village having brunch, then lunch at our fine restaurant featuring home cooking at its best.  (Also serving dinner on selected days - call for information.)  An abundance of picnic tables invite shoppers to eat outside or just relax under the many shade trees in the quietness and beauty of a country setting.

Shoppers will find a wide variety of unique shops offering many items not commonly found elsewhere.  As visitors move from one shop to another over brick sidewalks, they will enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds and those interested in plants will possibly recognize some of the more than 200 varieties, many which are not labeled.

By spending a day at Dutch Neck Village, visitors can avoid the hustle and bustle of city and mall shopping while enjoying the thrill of finding that special gift for that special someone in some rather unique shops.
